We almost got stampeded trying to get into the Mysore Palace gate. The crowd was unreal. So much pushing and shoving as if the Palace was going to fly away all of a sudden. It was even crazier that once we got inside the gate, there was so much open space that people were walking leisurely about the campus. There was no reason for the pushing and shoving, other than people are too damned impatient.


During the festival, we saw bus after bus and car after car with flower decorations. We later saw cows eating the flowers on many of the vehicles.
