Alberta Street Fair: More Reasons that Portland Rocks

At first we were wondering what a group of people were doing hovering around a bicycle with Republican signage all over it. That's so out of place in Portland, let alone on Alberta. We moved closer and saw this...

Then there was a parade and one float especially caught Pooja's interest. The makers of this float, a tree cutting company, are her new best friends. One bad pun after another. What more can you ask for?

Leaf it to the Alberta Street Fair to provide some great people-watching. (I heard that grumble)

How did we get a garden?

Dan planted some tomatoes a few months ago and we didn't really take care of them (like watering them, and generally paying attention to them), but somehow we actually have some tomatoes. Can't wait to see the results when we actually put some effort into gardening next year!

On the hike up, Dan overheard a group of hikers talk about how wonderful the Republican Naional Convention was. "It made so much sense," they said. Ha. Inspired by the talk of John McCain, Pooja does her impression of the man/robot. That awkward squint is her impression of his slimy wink. It'll take some practice.

This is the view from Larch Mountain, which is cool on a clear day because you can see Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, Mt. Jefferson and one other one....
