This is a photo from a very small shop we went into. It must be no bigger than 10 x 10, yet it had all these switches. God knows for what.
I guess these switches must be to help save electricity, given that there are frequent forced power outages during the hot months to help save power. During the outages that last anywhere from 10 minutes to 5 hours, it's miserable in 110 degree heat in a 3rd floor apartment. Luckily the weather has cooled and people blast their a/c's less, so not so many outages.
Also a common sight is very low hanging power lines that are cut. My mom almost ran into one today. Who knows if they are active, but I don't want to find out. India's new motto should be "Safety first."
