Camping in the Backyard
A Memorial Day weekend of camping hit a hitch after Pooja, Julia, Inga and Scout drove 3 hours to the Oregon coast, and found their "campsite" was actually a small open space with tent after tent cramped in a small space with no privacy and few trees. Disgusted by how that was advertised as a campground, we drove around a National park in search of a place we could just plop down our tents. After driving through miles and miles of crappy gravel road with near run-ins with cows and goats, we gave up and drove back to Portland. We ended up camping in Julia and Inga's backyard and Julia threw together a wonderful firepit.
